Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between loss control and inspection services?

Safety Resources provides a total range of services to meet the needs of the client by using a diverse staff and products. Inspections are designed as data gathering surveys to verify underwriting information for "main street" businesses. These surveys will detail construction, commonly found exposures, and give recommendations to correct any deficiencies. Loss Control surveys are used for more complex risks and will analyze and interpret information rather than just provide factual information. Recommendations will not only be given to correct deficiencies, but suggestions to help comply with the recommendations and assistance with compliance will be given. Ongoing services may also be done through loss control services.

What level of experience do Safety Resources professionals have?

Our specialists have industry experience in their fields of expertise that we put to work for you. Our loss control consultants average more than 20 years of experience with national carriers and major brokerage houses. Most have nationally recognized certifications, such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Professional Engineer (PE).  We also have retired FBI personnel, RNs with strong Risk Management background, and Certified Industrial hygienists available. Every field professional meets certification requirements in those states where required.

Do Safety Resources employees complete a training program?

Our newly hired inspectors complete a 12-week orientation program that includes classroom and field training. Using a program developed by a top insurance company as a guide, a professional trainer teaches our loss control classroom sessions. Every new employee also participates in our field mentoring program. All work of a first year employee is reviewed by a senior associate for one year. All training is overseen by our Vice President of Technical Services and Quality Assurance.

How can I be assured that I am receiving a quality product?

An 8-person quality review team is managed by our Vice President of Technical Services and Quality Assurance to ensure the highest standards of quality. A 100 percent review is completed before any work is sent to our customers. All work is subject to peer review and all loss control work is reviewed by a senior reviewer with a CSP certification. We also use a tracking system to monitor the quality of work each employee completes.

How do I communicate my specific needs and form to the field staff doing my inspections?

We work with every customer to set up a client book that is unique to their needs and identifies their specific work requirements. The online client books provides our field staff with the necessary guidelines and forms to complete the work as our customers have requested. Our ordering format also allows every customer to enter specifics for individual items that may differ from the normal requirements.

How do I check the status of my survey or inspection request?

We maintain a state-of-the-art assignment and tracking system called OSITrac to ensure prompt, secure delivery of all work requests. Our customers have immediate access to this system to view progress reports, work item status, and comments on work completion.
